Joseph Chang

Joe Chang serves as Partner – Real Estate of Promus Capital Management. Joe joined Promus under its prior ownership in 2020 and co-leads the firm’s real estate platform, which includes Promus Realty and Promus Realty Properties. He is responsible for sourcing, underwriting, structuring, closing, and managing both direct investments and GP/fund investments across the real estate platform.

Joe has more than 30 years of real estate development and investment experience. Prior to Promus he was a partner at RDG Funds for four years. Prior to RDG Joe founded and ran Icon Real Estate, a development and investment firm specializing in retail, medical, office, multi-family, land, and urban mixed-use investments. Before Icon, he served as the Regional Director of Real Estate Development at RREEF, the Senior Vice President of Development at ORIX Real Estate Equities, Inc., and the Director of Acquisitions at Lend Lease.

Joe earned his B.S.E in Industrial Engineering and a M.S. in Real Estate from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He lives in Highland Park, Illinois, and has three grown children. In his spare time, Joe enjoys the outdoors, reading, and spending time with his family. He is active in several trade and faith-based organizations and is a member of the University of Wisconsin Real Estate Alumni Association, where he volunteers as a mentor to recent graduates and young professionals.
